Guiding principles of the URC are the:
5 MARKS of MISSION
To proclaim the good news of the kingdom.
To teach, baptise and nurture new believers.
To respond to human need by loving service.
To seek to transform unjust structures of society.
To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, to sustain and renew the life on earth.
We are working together with Christian groups in and around Marlow. We are active members of Churches Together in Marlow and have fully supported the LOVE MARLOW since it's inception. We also support MARLOW LIGHTHOUSE and the MARLOW REFUGEE ACTION GROUP with funding and by working with them. We are long term supporters of CHEFS FOR JESUS and help them run a soup kitchen for the homeless in High Wycombe. We host MESSY CHURCH on the second Saturday of every month.
We have done mission work in Mozambique, where we have been twice (2007 and 2010). We made multi-year financial commitments to a mission station for orphaned children in Mocuba and paid for the degree course of one lady at the Christian College in Tete.
We have been supporting rock sculpture artists at ArtPeace in Zimbabwe since 2009. The photo below shows them in 2016 when we bought new tools for their rock sculpting activities.
In the last growing season we provided maize seed and fertilizer and we have received some amazing videos from the artists showing their "bumper harvest".
In October 2017 we sent money for maize seed and fertiliser and for a supply trip to the quarry where the artists mined rock.
In November 2018 we hosted an African concert and sculpture exhibition jointly with the Marlow based Jacaranda Trust.
